If you are starting to miss payments on your debts and other priority bills, it is important that you take decisive action as soon as possible to avoid damage to your credit score, your general well-being and those around you.

You can do the following:

  • Discuss your situation with all your creditors to try to arrange a suitable repayment plan that you can afford.

What to do if you lose your job or your income is reduced:

  • Immediately seek advice from your local benefits agency to see what benefits you could be entitled to.
  • Immediately contact your creditors to discuss your situation, they may be willing to accommodate you in the short term.
